
The 2025 National Health Research Conference will feature over 100 research papers (oral and poster presentations) on Emerging Diseases, Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases, Clinical/Laboratory Studies, Mental Health and more.
This is an annual conference hosted by an Inter-Institution Planning Committee, comprising the Faculty of Medical Sciences & Caribbean Centre for Health Systems Research and Development, The University of the West Indies; The University of Trinidad and Tobago; The University of the Southern Caribbean; the Regional Health Authorities; Ministry of Health Trinidad and Tobago; and Tobago House of Assembly.
The theme of the 2025 Conference is ‘Climate Change: Impacts on Public Health’. This conference is a timely platform to spotlight innovations, policies, and services addressing the intersection of climate and health.
This Conference enables the dissemination of research evidence on the health priorities of Trinidad and Tobago, as well as the development of evidence-informed policy and programming, aimed at improving the health outcomes of the population.

The Conference is open to individuals with an interest in health research, but is specifically intended for Medical Practitioners, Laboratory Specialists, Regional Health Authority Administrators, Ministry of Health Officials, Health Policymakers, Researchers, and University Staff and Students.
The objectives of the NHRC are to:
1. share research findings with key stakeholders (care providers, Ministries, RHAs, Academic Institutions, general public, etc.);
2. strengthen the national health research culture;
3. build research capacity and nurture junior researchers;
4. foster collaboration among researchers at different institutions; and
5. share policy relevant messages with the users of research (care providers, policy makers and planners)
